Montoya slams Raikkonen
Wednesday, 05 April 2006
kimiface2.jpgJuan Pablo Montoya has hit out at his Finnish teammate Kimi Raikkonen.

The tetchy Colombian driver, who is likely to leave the McLaren team at the end of 2006, slammed Raikkonen as their oddly amiable relationship was thrown out of a 300km/h cockpit.

30-year-old Montoya, also panning Kimi's fastest lap on the final tour at Albert Park, said: ''Kimi threw his car at me in the last race in Malaysia and did it again (in Australia).

''He was either slow or thinking about something other than driving except on the final lap,'' he told the Sun.

The British newspaper said Montoya believed 26-year-old Raikkonen now sees him as a 'threat'.

He insisted: ''(Last year) I don't think he felt threatened by me.''

Comments: During the Austalian GP weekend, Montoya spun in qualifying, spun in the formation lap and then spun in the race and halted his car.

After such a weekend, a normal driver would keep his mouth shut and try to perform better. Instead, Montoya attacks his teammate. Weird.

All this won 't make Ron Dennis any happier. After all, it was only a few days ago that he mentioned that Juan-Pablo is such a "worker".

Will Kimi beat Alonso in 2013 - 2014 season?
