kimi face ferrariKimi Raikkonen says it is essential that he gets on top of his recent qualifying problems in Monaco.

The Finn started his Ferrari career with pole in Australia, but has since struggled to match team-mate Felipe Massa's pace as the Brazilian stormed to three consecutive pole positions.

Raikkonen is determined to turn the tables in Monaco, where he won for McLaren in 2005.

"It is fundamental to have a good lap and I will give it my all."

"Every time I get into the car my knowledge of the tyres improves," he said...

"Until now the qualifying did not work out as I wanted it to be, but we did a lot of work to improve the situation.

"It would be wonderful to win with a red car and it would be much easier if I could start from the front row."

He said he would focus on getting the maximum from each race rather than looking at the points standings, having fallen from joint first to fourth after retiring in Spain.

"There are four drivers competing for the top spot in the championship, but there's no particular driver I am concentrated on," Raikkonen said.

"I will go to every race with the same attitude: trying to give my best and collecting as many points as possible."

Raikkonen believes that his unfamiliarity with Bridgestone tyres after using Michelins at McLaren has cost him speed so far this year, and that Fernando Alonso has had the same problem.

But he reckons he has now started to acclimatise to the new rubber.

"Every time I get into the car my knowledge of the tyres improves," Raikkonen said.

"They are really different to the ones I used during the last year.

"As far I as understand by reading the papers, also Fernando is in a similar situation.

"The test sessions in France went really well and now I feel even better with the F2007."
