A hard-fought 6th place for Kimi in Bahrain means that he finally opened Ferrari's points account for 2009, having led laps 20 and 21 after a long opening stint. Teammate Felipe Massa finished 14th.

Jenson Button made it three wins out of four for Brawn GP, with a finely judged performance that stretched his world championship score to 31 points.
